Firearm Safety Training
In a series of peer-reviewed publications, we explored a phenomenon known as the Unintentional Discharge (UD) of firearms, within the context of law enforcement.
The studies contain important unprecedented information, including an interdisciplinary discussion of the literature, functional behavioral assessment of 300+ cases, and a cohesive contextual behavioral taxonomy. We developed strategies for firearm safety training that might prevent UDs and associated injuries in law enforcement with implications for firing ranges, concealed carry, and hunting areas.
